The PATRIOT PILGRIMAGE:

UNDERSTANDING AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM

I organized, pursued, and executed a personalized Independent Study Program to different cities across America during the year of 2019. The aim of this program was to evaluate different living trends and redevelopment practices seen throughout the United States of America that, either consciously or subconsciously, identify with the uniqueness of its multi-layered cultures and communities.

The Independent Study Program integrated ideologies of American Exceptionalism within the different cities explored and studied, and how these planned cities reflect its resultant social demographics in relation to a larger and grandeur national identity.

the interrelationship between these cities

In order to understand how these cities came to be significant (or insignificant) in today’s age, each city was first looked at from a historical perspective. Connections were then made between these cities and how they helped establish one another by means of either business opportunities, population changes, and/or political initiatives that helped shape the death or life of these American cities.
